My english is very poor to express how good is your blog and how I like it, recently discovered. Thank you. So many painters which I did not know! Se lei è italiano, La ringrazio nella sua lingua.
Grazie a lei.
I’ve spent the last 10 minutes or so browsing through your fine collection – a site I’ll definitely return to – Thanks for putting it together
You forgot Bouguereau.
See this site:

Merci pour votre site et des découvertes que vous permettez.
Cordialement
PA
you forgot Ramon CASAS (1866-1932) !
Almost 800 artists have been posted but I’ll always forget someone.
Why no Degas, Renoir, Cezanne?
Maybe because I tend to propose lesser known artists. But you’re right. Give me some time, I’ll try to post them as soon as possible. Thanks.
No! No modernists!! They are common, out of drawing and dominate art history unfairly!Enough with the constant parade of the eternally bloated Renoir and the hideously stylized Cezanne! They are common, and usher in a degradation of the female form, CantervilleGhost your choices are sublime and perfect!
Last week I had have left a message, but it disappeared, I wonder why.
Hal
I did not see your comment. It may be that WordPress automatic system wrongly placed it among the spam (the blog is daily flooded with dozens of spam). Sorry for the inconvenience.
In my said message I, being a new subscriber, had expressed my deep appreciation for your Site and also asked how could I share with you
some material from my digital collection, such material which I did not see
on the Site. With kind regards.
Hal
To CantervilleGhost,
Well, I still wait for your reply to my above question.
Hal
When you do a day-by-day blog you’ll always forget someone…but a blog is a personal adventure not a collective forum. A blog means having the freedom to post what you want when you want to.
I think I was unable to express myself.
I just wanted to post some material from my classics collection, but I do not
know technically how to convey them to you.
Pls guide me. (How can I send you jpg pictures titled with painter names?)
Hal
I love your blog! Thank you very much. I am sorry for my bad englisch.
Thank you for collecting all these great works of artists. I could watch them the whole day! So inspiring! Thanks!
thanks 🙂

As a form of appreciation for your site, maybe it is nice to recommend to watch the french film “La belle noiseuse”. where an artist (probably based on artist Bernard Dufour) and his intimate relation with a nude model is portrayed. Its a very long film with partially real time registration.
There are more links that offer a connection.as far as language and subtitles is a concern.
Cheers!
I believe you lack a very famous piece by Podkowinski entitled ‘Frenzy’. See here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frenzy_of_Exultations
Otherwise, a nice blog.
Nearly 1.700 artists and more than 13.000 paintings have been posted here but, I know, a lot of good artists and paintings will always miss…Anyway, Podkowinski will be posted soon. Thank you.
Enjoying your site. Have you considered Paul-Émile Bécat 1886-1960, in particular his Casanova playing card series for Philibert?
Yes, I’ll post Bécat very soon. Thank you.
A short film about 9 minutes long called Beauty by Rino Stefano Tagliafierro. Many famous works of art containing nudity minimally animated at
Note an absolute gem of a painting by Antonio Cioci – Self-portrait (1739) where the artist depicts himself pointing to a small model of a nude draped in some sort of diaphanous material.

Please consider adding some of the beautiful nude oils done by American Impressionist John Carroll Doyle from Charleston, SC!

I know John Carroll Doyle’s works and I’ll certainly post them. Very soon. Thank you.
Thank you for your fast response regarding the work of John Doyle. I am lucky enough to be his gallery director and love selling his amazing work – in all subjects, but especially the nudes!

I like your site. I recommend to you the works of István Csók (Hungarian, 1865-1961).
Thank you. I will look into this. Thanks for the suggestion.
A suggestion for your site…

Merci pour toutes ces merveilles !
thanks.
Why can’t I share these artists with my Facebook and G+? What happened to the icons for sharing?
The share icons are always at the bottom of each article but I don’t know if they work or not. Just consider that Facebook does not allow to post nudity (they are not able to make a distinction between a Rubens nude painting and a Jenna Jameson’s pic…for this reason I can’t open a Facebook page of this blog)…
check this one

I have a suggestion. Have you ever heard of Henning von Gierke? Might fit thematically into your site. http://henningvongierke.de
Thank you. I’ll post his works as soon as possible.
Love your Blog !

You have a great blog which I refer others to often. I don’t know how you find and select the artists you have. You can see my nudes on my website and you have my permission to post them on your blog.
Thank you. Your work is really appreciated. I’ll post your paintings as soon as possible.
Thanks for including me in your blog. My date of birth is 1950.
I absolutely love this blog, it is a journey through history and the human condition. Ive spent hours here learning and being inspired I think this blog might be my muse.Thank you Canterville Gost
Thanks.
A most wonderful site, thank you and congratulations.. Interesting omissions, Deveria, Paul Avril etc. But I have no wish to be churlish, you did truly wonderful work!
Thank you. Avril is posted here under his real name (Edouard-Henri Avril). Deveria will follow.
Thank you so much. Do you have encyclopedia erotic by Dopp which has a small number of artists not represented on your site…keep up the magnificent work
I’ve been lurking for a couple of years. Your site is fantastic! I especially enjoy Asian artists — the traditional or quasi-traditional nudes — and realism. Thank you!
Thank you 🙂
Thank you for your extensive research!
Fatico a trovare nudi maschili. Forse la dicitura “The female nude in art history” descriverebbe più precisamente questa minuziosa e laboriosa raccolta.
LA CONCHIGLIA DI VENERE non è abbastanza esauriente?
